Bollywood, the Indian film industry based in Mumbai, is home to many talented and renowned actors. These celebrities, with their fame and fortune, have some of the most luxurious and iconic homes. Let's take a tour of some of these famous Bollywood celebrity homes and their unique names.

1. Ajay Devgan: Shivshakti

Entrance of Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn and his family reside in a luxurious bungalow named 'Shivshakti.' The house owes its nomenclature to the actor's devotion towards Lord Shiva. This devotion is also evident from a prominent Shiva tattoo on his chest, and also from his films such as Bholaa and Shivaay.

2. Amitabh Bachchan: Jalsa

Bachchan

For those unfamiliar, Big B owns a grand total of five extravagant bungalows, all situated in the Juhu area. 'Prateeksha' served as the original and cherished home of the Bachchan family, where they resided together with their parents for a remarkable span of four decades. However, following the passing of his parents, the esteemed actor moved to another bungalow near 'Prateeksha' and bestowed upon it the name 'Jalsa'.

It is worth noting that his previous abode held significant sentimental value to the megastar. During one episode of his game show, he was questioned regarding the reason behind the name Prateeksha. In response, he revealed that his father had named the bungalow after a line from his own poetry.

'Jalsa' also holds a special distinction as it was actually gifted to Amitabh Bachchan by director Ramesh Sippy as part of his remuneration following the resounding success of their film, 'Satte Pe Satta.'

The bungalow was originally named Mehboob and renamed to Jalsa (meaning fun/celebration in Hindi) after Amitabh bought it.

As per some reports, 'Jalsa', was initially called 'Mansa' by Harivansh Rai Bachchan in honour of a family guru. But the name was changed at the recommendation of Vastu consultant, Neeta Sinha. Neeta felt the name change would enhance the positive energy in the house.

3. John Abraham: Villa in the Sky

John Abraham

John Abraham is more than just a regular Bollywood star. He resides in an incredible house called 'Villa In The Sky' in Mumbai's Bandra area. The house was designed by his brother Alan Abraham and father Abraham John, along with the talented team at Abraham John Architects.

4. Nawazuddin Siddiqui: Nawab

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a renowned actor in the entertainment industry, has finally achieved his long-awaited dream of constructing his own luxurious bungalow in Mumbai. This talented actor not only acted in movies but also displayed his creativity by becoming the interior designer of his magnificent residence. It took him three years to renovate the bungalow, which draws inspiration from his cherished childhood home in Budhana, Uttar Pradesh. With utmost love and respect for his late father, Nawabuddin Siddiqui, the actor has named his dream bungalow "Nawab."

5. Rajesh Khanna: Ashirwad

A famous bungalow located on Carter Road in Mumbai became the residence of not just one, but three Bollywood superstars - Bharat Bhushan, Rajendra Kumar and Rajesh Khanna. However, despite their initial success, all three actors experienced a downfall in their careers and eventually faced financial ruin after moving into this supposedly haunted and cursed house.

In 1969, actor Rajesh Khanna purchased the sea-facing bungalow "Dimple" from Rajendra Kumar, hoping that the superstardom of the previous owner would bring him luck.

However, Kumar requested that Khanna change the name of the bungalow.

"You must change the name. Dimple is my daughter's name. We had named the Carter Road bungalow after her and we have now named our new home 'Dimple' too. But you have my blessings for your new home. May it bring you immense luck and prosperity."

Khanna complied and renamed the property "Ashirwad," believing that he was blessed to have been able to get the bungalow.
