Welcome to our section devoted to nameplates embellished with the fine art of Bidri. Bidri takes its name from the place where it originated, Bidar, Karnataka. It’s also known as Bidriware. It is a distinctive form of metal handicraft that was developed in the 14th century C.E. during the rule of the Bahamani Sultans. Housenama now brings this ancient and extraordinary art form to its contemporary and stylish range of handcrafted Teak Float nameplates.
Take, for instance, the Abhiratah, an intriguing and compelling statement of bidriware on nameplates.
Each name plate comes with a 5mm black acrylic sheet that floats over a teakwood finish wooden base. The top black laser engraved and gold-filled which yields excellent detail and contrast against the piano finish back. The black acrylic plate is raised above the surface of the piano finish plaque with silver hardware. Two keyhole slots are provided at the back for wall hanging. These are truly high quality, high end name plates.
